How to Clean Copper Mugs
Forget to clean your Moscow mule mug immediately after finishing the drink? Then chances are that it looks something like this.
Copper mugs can be beautiful and really keep a drink nice and cold, but they also can get water spots and stains like crazy. A copper mug can seem ruined if it is not washed and dried right after it is used. Spots and discolorations are very common on copper that has not been washed and completely dried right after use.
How to Clean Copper Mugs
We know to wash and, even more importantly, dry copper after each use. The morning after enjoying some Moscow Mules one night with friends, we found a lovely mug left on a corner table. After washing and drying, it still looked like this:
We were sad, until we found a new friend. There’s no longer need for despair, as there is help in the name of Barkeepers Friend. Appropriately named, as this stuff should become a friend of anyone who has copper anywhere in their kitchen.
Take a clean rag, preferably a towel, and squeeze some Barkeepers Friend onto a spot of the towel. Rub briskly onto the copper and then wipe it clear.
